What if Rihanna was Wednesday from The Addams Family?

Explore the casting possibilities for Netflix's 'Wednesday' series! Could Rihanna have played Wednesday Addams? Check out our casting ideas and more.

The new Netflix series Wednesday has created an uproar in the fantasy, comedy, horror, and even supernatural fiction society since its release. Seeing Ellie – Jenna Ortega from ‘YOU’ all grown up was a sight for sore eyes. Who would have thought? And boy? Did she deliver?

Jenna Ortega not only acted the role of Wednesday, she lived it. She had viewers glued to the screen at every stop with her pale skin, blank facial expressions, and small but mighty vibe. She was a perfect fit as Wednesday Addams.

But did you at any point in the movie consider how it would have gone if someone else played the role?

Well, we did.

Especially in episode 4 during the Rave’N party, where Wednesday was dressed all fancy in that black flowy net dress( the signature Addams family color), black boots, and the usual emotionless and dead gaze that identifies her as Wednesday. Seated in that chair as if it was her throne while talking to Tyler. We thought of Rihanna. I bet you did too.

It makes us wonder what Rihanna’s Instagram would be like and what products she’d promote.

Robyn Rihanna Fenty, for those of us who live under a rock, is a Barbadian singer, Rhythm and Blues Goddess, as well as an actress and businesswoman also the owner of the Fenty brand. If you don’t know her as the one, you probably know her as the other.

Did you see any striking resemblance to Rihanna in the party scene in episode 4? If not, maybe you are due for a rewatch because you should have. Rihanna would look drop-dead gorgeous in that dress and seat. Although the students of Nevermore Academy would probably have done more starting than they did on her entrance and this would have defeated the role of Wednesday as the unapproachable girl.

Another scene that brought Rihanna to mind was the Poe cup competition, where Wednesday wore that black skin-tight fit for canoeing. The fit and the determined look to make Bianca weep is one we’ve seen a lot of Rihanna on screen. Now imagine Rihanna seated in front of Wednesday’s cello playing passionately because let’s be honest, she would play it perfectly. She has the poise for it, after all.

Who could capture the classic look of Morticia Addams?

The strange humor of the Addams family was also very refreshing to see in the series. Morticia Addams, portrayed by Catherine Zeta-Jones in her expensive skin-tight black dinner dresses, pin-straight long black hair, and witchy vibe. Speaking of witches, doesn’t (Morticia Addams) remind you of a certain actress and singer? Black hair and an always-on gothic witch look? Yes, Diana Ross. With her motherly look and dramatic tendencies, she’ll most definitely pull the role off and probably grill Wednesday way more than Catherine did. The dress fitting is out of the question. We all know Diana owns the stage/ runways. Fitting into the Addams family’s black theme is also out of the question.

Who could pull off the humor of Gomez Adams?

Our recommendation for the father is Tyler Perry! What’s yours? There is no role the man hasn’t ever played, so who’s to say he wouldn’t give Gomez Adams a run for his money? Just as long as Madea doesn’t try to make an appearance as Morticia. Lol

The annoying little brother that’s always up to something…

Pugsley Addams (Isaac Ordonez) and the father, Gomez Addams ( Luiz Guzmen) would also have been played perfectly by Tyler James Williams as Pugsley Addams. He has the troubled child look going on for him, and Pugsley should definitely be troubled; you can’t have a family like the Addams and claim sanity.

Thing: A hand with Sass

Remember Thing? How would we ever forget that lone appendage? continuously helping Wednesday out and expressing emotions even far more than our lead actress could. Well, surprise, surprise! Thing was no AI invention in the series, but rather, it was played by Victor Dorobantu, who confessed that the role was very serious and mind-wracking. Thing could, however, also have been played by Mellisa Forde, popularly known as M Dollas, Rihanna’s best friend, a photographer, and entrepreneur. She doesn’t even have to show her face, just her hand. Seeing her delicate hands in place of Victor’s would have added more touch to the horror the series was going for and maybe more emotions too, especially whenever it gets pissed at Wednesday or was giving the finger. Women are known to be more expressive with their hands, after all.

Do you also think Rihanna would pull the role of Wednesday off? Who else do you think could have played the roles better?
